Former British politician and diplomat RORY STEWART to visit Australia – Oct/ Nov 2024

Rory Stewart, former cabinet minister of the UK Government, writer, diplomat and one half of the hugely popular podcast The Rest Is Politics will be touring Australia in October & November 2024 for an evening of no-holds barred discussion on crises, policy, and the world order.

Monday 21October                        Melbourne         Arts Centre Melbourne, Hamer Hall

Tuesday 29 October                       Sydney                Sydney Opera House, Concert Hall

Saturday 2 November                    Brisbane              Concert Hall, QPAC

Sunday 3 November                       Canberra             Llewellyn Hall

Monday 4 November                     Perth                    Perth Concert Hall

Following a sold-out 2023 UK tour, Rory will now be taking to the stage across Australia to reflect on how, over the course of a decade, he went from being a political outsider to standing in for the prime minister – before being sacked from a Conservative Party that he had come to barely recognise.

“Global politics has never been more interesting. This is the year where there are more elections worldwide than ever before. European politics is in the balance … It’s an amazing opportunity to engage audiences [and] to talk about the future of the world. I couldn’t be more excited!” said Rory Stewart.

Tackling ministerial briefs on flood response and prison violence, engaging with conflict and poverty abroad as a foreign minister, and Brexit as a Cabinet minister, Rory learned first-hand how profoundly hollow and inadequate our democracy and government had become.

In conversation, Rory will engage with populism, Brexit and global conflict and delve even deeper into the instant #1 Sunday Times bestseller, Politics On the Edge.

Don’t miss the chance to hear Rory’s account of the challenges, absurdities and realities of political life, and ask your burning questions in a live Q&A.
