The Shamrock Tenors—internationally acclaimed for their fresh and contemporary take on traditional Irish music—are set to captivate audiences with a three-month nationwide tour that will see them criss-crossing Australia. This groundbreaking vocal group promises an unforgettable celebration of Irish culture, music, and spirit. The Shamrock Tenors recently took home a couple of Emmys when they won at the Regional Emmy® Awards in Detroit for their PBS special Shamrock Tenors: Live From Belfast.
Hailed as “Ireland’s most exciting new folk music sensation,” the Shamrock Tenors return to Australia following a string of sold-out performances across the UK, including Belfast’s Grand Opera House, Birmingham Symphony Hall, and a showstopping set before 20,000 fans at London’s Trafalgar Square.
Blending West End theatricality with authentic Irish tradition, the group features stars from major productions like Les Misérables alongside Northern Ireland’s top multi-instrumentalists. Jimmy Johnston, Matthew Campbell, Raymond Walsh, Jack Walsh, and newest and youngest member of the group, Nathan Johnston, bring a vibrant energy to beloved classics such as “Danny Boy,” “Whiskey in the Jar,” “The Parting Glass,” and “Wild Rover”—all delivered in stunning five-part harmony.
With a unique mix of Irish charm, exceptional vocals, and high-octane instrumental flair, the Shamrock Tenors offer a concert experience that transcends generations, inviting audiences to experience the Emerald Isle like never before.
“Irish music is all about enjoyment, letting loose, leaving any sort of worries at the door, and just coming in and having a nice night of escapism. We wanted to bring that authentic taste of Ireland. We want people to feel in a theater as if they could be in a bar in Galway,” said founder and group member, Raymond Walsh.
Since their meteoric rise, the group has enjoyed global success. Highlights include headlining the BBC’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, a sold-out West End debut at London’s Adelphi Theatre, and racking up over eight million views across social media platforms. Their first two singles soared to #1 on the iTunes World Music Charts, and their acclaimed PBS television special—filmed live and nominated for a Royal Television Society Award—has brought their music to an even broader audience.
The Shamrock Tenors are poised to bring their signature sound and showstopping performances to Australia in what promises to be one of the most talked-about tours of the year.

JIMMY JOHNSTON
Jamie Murray Johnston (Jimmy) grew up in Larne, on Northern Ireland’s world-renowned Antrim coast. Music has always been Jimmy’s passion from a very young age, as well as history. Little did he think that his career and travels with the Shamrock Tenors would involve both.
He originally trained in classical singing, but his real loves are country and Irish music. Along the way, he began Irish dancing with his sister and went on to become a champion Irish dancer.
Jimmy has performed all over the world singing and dancing for audiences proudly representing his country. He is highly fascinated with all things Irish – specifically Ulster’s history and the Scotch-Irish diaspora. The place and its people have shaped not only his musical tastes but almost every facet of his life. He relishes every opportunity to talk of home with people from all corners of the world.
MATTHEW CAMPBELL
Matthew studied Music at Queen’s University Belfast and his masters focused on Musical Theatre in Northern Ireland. Since 2018, he has toured and performed extensively with the Shamrock Tenors as singer, arranger, musical director and multi-instrumentalist.
In early 2024 he played the role of ‘Maestro’ in the hit musical, The Choir of Man, as part of their residency at the Arts Centre Melbourne, Australia.
Matthew has worked with many other respected performers in the Irish music circuit and is also a much sought-after Musical Director and Vocal Coach throughout Ireland.
An avid audio engineer, Matthew was recently nominated for a Royal Television Society Award for Best Post Production for the band’s TV special. @m_atthewc
