In the wake of devastating floods that swept through Wingham, Taree, and surrounding areas earlier this year, the Wingham Music Festival, one of regional NSW’s most beloved music festivals, is returning in November this year, bringing some much-needed cheer and relief to a community still coming to terms with the events of May this year.
The Wingham Music Festival 2025 will be held at the renowned Wingham Showground over three days – from Friday 21 November to Sunday 23 November and is billed as a Flood Recovery Concert – designed to uplift, reconnect and rebuild the community through the love of live music.
Confirmed to appear on stage this year are Backsliders, The Badloves, Bill Chambers, Hat Fitz and Cara, Round Mountain Girls, Blues Arcadia and many more. A second round of confirmed artists will be announced in early November.
Thanks to the support of both State and Federal government, residents of seven flood-affected postcode areas were invited to register for free three-day festival tickets. These tickets were quickly snapped up by locals as soon as the event was announced.
Three-day tickets are now available for purchase for residents outside the affected areas. Locals and festival organisers look forward to welcoming music lovers from across New South Wales, and indeed across Australia, back to Wingham to enjoy three brilliant days of music, help support the flood relief effort and let the Mid North Coast residents know they are not enduring these hardships alone.
Festival Coordinator Donna Ballard explains, “ We knew this year we needed something really special for the community, and being able to offer free tickets for those impacted by the flood is a great step in moving forward. To be able to bring the festival to life this year as a space for relaxation and connection, and a special festival this year to welcome people back to Wingham is just the best feeling!”
Artists have also demonstrated strong support. Blues Arcadia have extended their final run of shows in 2025 to ensure Wingham is included, while Backsliders have reserved 23 November to return once more for the community. As Dom Turner expressed, ‘Wingham truly feels like family.'”
Music really does uplift and bring happiness through the connection of shared experiences and 2025 will be a one of a kind.
Background:
Wingham and surrounding towns in the Manning River catchment experienced a devastating flood in May 2025, following more than 700 mm of rainfall in under a week.
The Manning River surged to record levels, forcing over 50,000 residents to evacuate and damaging more than 10,000 homes. Infrastructure failures, including the destruction of Wingham’s main water pipeline, left communities vulnerable and in urgent need of support.
Emergency services conducted over 280 rescues, with assistance from the Australian Defence Force and volunteer organisations. The SES led an extensive emergency response that included suppling food, water medicine to isolated communities, assisting with damage assessment, as well as cleaning and beginning repairs on damaged properties.
Wingham and surrounding towns – including Taree, Harrington, Coopernook, Nabiac, Gloucester and more – continue to be impacted by the damage from the May floods.
Tickets & Travel
Three Day passes are available now, with proceeds supporting local recovery efforts as any surplus funds will be donated to local business chambers, Rotary, and Lions Clubs — helping to rebuild lives and livelihoods across the Mid Coast of NSW. Single day tickets will go on sale after the October long weekend.
Camping is available onsite at the Wingham Showground, and accommodation is also available in nearby towns such as Taree, Old Bar, Harrington, and Tinonee.
“Whether you’re a local or visiting from afar, Wingham Music Festival 2025 invites you to be part of something bigger — a celebration of music and the strength of community,” says Donna.
